Organic Single Malt

First cuvée distilled and raised by the Lachanenche distillery in the heart of the Ubaye valley. This organic single malt without additives is made from French barley brewed in France.
Lachanenche operates a double distillation on his burgundian still and develop aging in oak barrels of French white wines. This breeding takes place at the gates of the magnificent and enigmatic Valley of Laverq, in an old rail tunnel where begins a slow and singular maturation. Laverq Whiskey - 46%vol - 70cl.

No extract, concentrated, preservative or coloring are added.

Sensory analysis

Nose: Ample, generous, and inviting. The initial aromas unfold with notes of yellow fruits: dried apricot, dried fig, and raisins, structured by vanilla and honey notes. The second nose becomes more complex with spicy scents: cinnamon, pepper, and nutmeg.

Palate: Long and rich. The attack is elegant and subtle, developing with lightly woody vanilla notes. The tasting then unfolds with indulgent flavors: toasted brioche, caramel cream, and dried fruit. The finish is very persistent, developing spicy aromas along with notes of almond and hazelnut.

A whisky under the mountain

Our aging cellar is located in a tunnel
originally intended for the passage of a railway line. This structure
exceptional early 20th-century carving into the heart of the rock
Limestone contributes to the unique character of our Laverq whisky.

The temperature variations from one season to another are relatively small
but the humidity level rises to 90%, resulting in an angel's share
significant, on the order of 2% vol per year.

These particular conditions bring maturity and flexibility
astonishing to our Laverq whisky from the first three years of
aging, suggesting an exceptional aromatic richness on
the years to come.

The art of distillation

The Lachanenche Distillery
perfected in the art of distillation using a century-old still
acquired in 2012.

Benoit in charge of the
manufacturing, strives to refine its knowledge through the diversity of
products to be distilled (plants, fruits, grains). The goal is to offer
subtle and flavorful spirits, with a touch of originality brought by
the uniqueness of this still.

Alembic:

Steam still from 1907,
comprising three copper vases. Itinerant and originally intended for the
Marc production in Savoy. It was renovated by the addition of two columns of
Stupfler rectifications allowing the production of a finer alcohol
precise and powerful aromatics.
